The scene was peaceful, serene and calming. I stood at the base of the light house and pressed my back against the solid wooden door behind me. I felt the cool mist on my cheeks as the fresh, inspiring air entered my lungs. I closed my eyes and breathed deeply. The sounds of gulls flying overhead, of the playful waves spalshing against the rocks, all of these soothing sounds filled my mind as I allowed myself to get lost in the wonder of it all. This is what life was meant to be - finding enjoyment in the simple things. When I opened my eyes again, I saw the bright afternoon sun peering at me from under the blanket of soft, pillow-like clouds. It shone through the heavy mist hanging in the air and cast a soft, clear light on everything around me. The beauty of it all filled my heart with a wonder that bubbled up inside my chest and rose to my throat, which was now aching with emotion. I lifted my hands to the clouded sky in a flood of fresh inspiration and emotion. In that moment, it felt as though my skin was the only thing keeping me from flying on the breeze with the birds. This is living. This is real life.
I have a passion for art and an overactive imagination.
