Once in Beijing, a young girl in a red gown huddled in a doorway. She was hoping to catch a cool breeze as well as a paying customer as the slinky dress billowed behind her. Cigarettes were sexy again, and with lung disease the least of her worries, she inhaled with abandon. Another night, another John...
But tonight was different, because as she bent to tap the ashes from her cigarette, she saw a green cloth protruding from behind the fake potted plant near the doorway. Curiousity getting the better of her, she pulled aside the leaves to find the child, younger then herself and even more helpless. Perhaps this boy could be the one to rescue her. Not the prince of fairie tales sweeping away the helpless damsel, but the one she could take away and give a better life.
She didn't know how.
She didn't know how.
She knew there were places, though she was afraid of what her master would do if he caught her. Gathering her courage, she gathered the child's basket and headed into the unknown.
As she turned the corner on her life, she noticed the note taped to the blanket. "Care for my baby. His name is John."
So glad you're back. This is a great story. :)
Thanks!
Hey, I had a question for you. I tried to sign up a separate account for my son to write a story, but it kept redirecting me to type in google or twitter info. Is there a straight forward way for me to just create an account for him to write on?
Hey ganymeder,
A bit late getting back to you, but the good news is yes, you'll be able to create a traditional account for your son.
I'm actually 2-3 hours of work left before I can push a revamped 6MS live, which will involve a lot of bug fixes, and a much better writing / browsing experience.
I hope you like it!
(Next thing to fix: comment notifications - I keep forgetting to check my 6ms inbox!)
I encountered a problem when trying to create a separate account for my son to write a story, as it kept redirecting me to use Google or Twitter. Is there a simple way to create an account directly for him to use
