How did we meet? You really want that story again honey? Okay, then.

Well, it was ten years ago, your father was a student and I was visiting an old friend of mine. We were on our way out to a club to listen to this band...

No honey, I don't remember which band, because I never got to the gig. No, I don't know if they were any good... Look, do you want me to tell you this story or not?

Right, so we were walking to the bar where the band was supposed to play and to get there, we had to go past a supermarket which had all this fruit and veg on a stand outside. Now because it was late, the shop was closing and bringing the stand in. But the worker was a clumsy oaf who tipped it up when he was supposed to lift it and out fell the entire box of potatoes.

Yes dear, potatoes. Yes honey, that was your father, you are right, he is very clumsy.

Anyway, these potatoes spilled all over the pavement and, I, who hadn't noticed, slipped on one while my heel got caught in another. I lost my balance amongst all the mess that your father had created. I was about to fall backwards and make mash of all the spuds when your father galantly reached out and caught me.

Yes, that's right, that's why we have potatoes every year for our anniversary meal. I owe everything to a few innocent spuds.
