The disco ball was turning. I couldn't believe it. The big night had finally arrived. The day I had been waiting for for four years: My senior prom. I had gotten the nerve to ask the homecoming queen, Jill, to the dance. I remmeber I was so nervous when I asked her. It was during 4th period English class. My teacher was asking us to do some stupid thematic connection activity, and I leaned over and said, "Hey, Jill, umm....would you...." She looked at me like I had 1,000 heads, and they were not handsome heads. I started to falter. In my mind, I said to myself, "Crap! She's gona say no, she's gonna say no! Bail! Bail!" But, I went through with it. I kept on. I got up the nerve and said, "Umm..., I mean, if you're not doing anything, uhh...the prom? Would you...like to....go to..." She finished my sentence for me. Jill said, "The prom? No way! I'm not going with you! As if!" But, as my world started to crash all around me, I saw a smile creep onto her face. She was kidding! She then said, "Ha! Got you! You so fell for it! Yes, I'll go with you.
