Hypnotised. It was one of those moments I'd never forget because I inflicted it all on myself.

Thought it would be an interesting experiment to see what would happen, never imagining that I'd be lying on the forest floor so many hours, luckily it wasn't days! Paramedics couldn't help, hospital doctors baffled until finally someone realised what was going on and called in a professional to snap me out of it.

What was even worse, I couldn't remember a damn thing afterwards. What place my mind had travelled to. All I recall was that I had wanted to try out a different countdown sequence to the ones I'd read in the scripts, so it wasn't the usual staircases and corridors with rooms corresponding to memories of the past or the future, or finding potions for healing my various health conditions, or meeting angels or guides or past lives. This was going to be something radical. Well it was all right, but not what I wanted.

So where had I been?

The clue might have come after the demons and ghouls kept appearing at night. Hypnogogic hallucinations most people call them but mine weren't in my imagination.

Especially the one that left the bite marks on my chest and neck.

Or made me want to bite the neck of my wife and make her immortal like me.

Six minute story is brilliant as a daily mental excercise to write on a variety of topics. It involves a lot of trial and error before I finish in the given time.

I am often surprised which of my stories receive the most views, often those I planned to delete.
