Daring to be noticed for the first time in her life, she pushed her chair back and stood up. She knew every detail of his face: the way his nose arched in between his eyes, the way the left side of his lip always rose a little higher when he smirked as he walked by, and that freckle under his ear that she always imagined kissing.

They had worked in the same office for about six months now, and since he walked in she could not take her eyes off him. They would talk very casually, about the boring weekly meetings, the insane Texas weather, or the absurd calls only a person in a collection agency would hear. But she never dared to make any advance, because neither did he.

She froze after her first step, "Am I desperate?"

"Yes, I'm desperate for something!."

She took a few more steps towards his desk.

"What if he turns me down?" And fear stopped her again.

"What if he doesn't?" Replied her inner adventurer.

By now she realized it was to late to turn back without looking awkward.

Besides, it was just the movies.

She tapped is shoulder and he turned,
