The Moon would never be the same again. No more bands, no more over priced beer. No more after prom parties.

But that really isn't any concern of mine. I always hated the place. It was where the worst times of my life went down.

The one that stuck in my mind the most happened because of a girl named Erin. I'd just moved to town and for some reason she caught my eye. I spent a while trying to get her to go out with me, but I couldn't ever get anywhere with it.

Then one day I got a message from her saying that she'd give me a shot. Actually her words were more like "Fine, if this is what it takes to get you to leave me alone I'll go out with you. But we're going to a show at The Moon and I'll leave anytime I want to."

That was good enough for me.

Or would have been if the message hadn't really come from her older brother. It would have been even better if he hadn't done it with the intend of beating the shit out of me for not leaving his sister alone.

So for everyone like me, I'm putting this town out of its misery. The Moon will do it's best impersonation of the sun tonight, and in the morning will be nothing more than a pile of ash.
