'It's the largest ship I've ever seen.'

"It's the only ship you've ever seen."

"This is why I don't watch movies with you."

"Oh, look at her, look at her pandering to the camera - "

"She's an actress, it's her job."

'This is the beginning of such an adventure!'

"This is the beginning of such an awful film. Why are we watching this?"

"Because I like this film, and you're my sister, you're meant to at least try to like things that I like."

"Surely, as your sister, I am meant to pull your hair, steal your clothes, make fun of you and have a crush on your boyfriend."

"I would prefer it if you liked things that I liked." My elder sister shifted in her seat, trying to focus on the film, staring at the drippy heroine (heroine, hah, the woman was two-dimensional and would faint at the sight of a tight pair of breeches) until she couldn't resist - "Did you really have a crush on Matt?"

"Only a bit of one." I shrug - huge lie. Matt was - is? - my perfect man, my dream, my everything. Or at least he could be. If he'd ever said more than "sup" to me. "Nothing serious. What's the silly bint doing now?"

"Bint is a horrible word. Now pass me the ice cream."

"They all die in the end, don't they?" I handed her the tub - two spoons, apparently we were sharing. In theory more than practice.

"Yes, they do."

"Well, that's something to look forward to."

Ladygirl of a British persuasion; sometimes I actually write stories that aren't depressing (but not very often)

I write for the http://jupiter-palladium.com, which is a webcomic about superheroes. Interesting ones. Cute ones, too. Which is nice. (It's cheerier than most things I write. That's where the happy goes, guys.)
