"Why do people have to lie?" Bridgette asked herself as she looked over the water.
The couple that passed gave her a odd look but she just shrugged, she didn't care what people thought.
"I always tell the truth, even when I probably shouldn't. So, why is it so hard for other people? Why can't they just say what they feel?"
A face of a boy she knew drifted to the forefront of her mind; sure, she already knew he liked her but did he ever tell her? No.
"Things would be so much more simple if people just spoke off the top of their heads..." She sighed loudly and continued to walk the pier.
"When someone cares about another person, why can't they just say it? Why must everyone be run entirely by fear?" So many questions on that dreary morning. Mist, drifting down from the sky.
Overcast and sad. That was Bridgett's mood at that moment, "So very appropriate." She thought as a big raindrop landed on her cheek.
People continued to pass her as she stared at her feet, "Why can't anything in this life be complicated?" She stopped, and leaned off the railing, "Why can't life be easy and people mean what they say? Why?"
