"Stacy, come on! Hurry up!"

I huffed as I ran behind him. "John-" pant, pant, "please, for the love of all-" pant, pant, "-that is holy. Slow down!"

He laughed, and continued to run, as though we were children still. Adults don't run. They tell other kids to stop running. And for good reason, too! It's tiring!

He stopped at the top and looked down at me, watching me walk the rest of the way. As soon as I reached his side, I frowned at his gorgeous hazle green stare.

And he smiled.

"Could kill you, ya know," I huffed.

"All talk. That's what you are," he winked.

"Not today, I'm not."

"Aren't you going to look around?"

I huffed again. "What for? A cot? I'm bound to pass out here!"

He laughed again, stepping closer. "You'll thank me later."

"Whatever."

He chuckled deeply, sighing my name. "Won't you please, look around?"

Finally, just to appease him mostly, I look around.

There was a gorgeous white beach here. Clear waters brushing against the smooth sand. Seagulls floating around, it seemed. And the sun was setting. "God, how beautiful."

"I know, right?"

I turned to smiled at his reaction...he was still watching me. "You haven't looked."

"All I ever want to look at is you," he smiled. "You're beautiful."

I blushed, as I always do when he says those words to me. "John..."

He placed a finger on my lips. "You are. So very beautiful. And like this place, a hidden treasure that no one knows about. No one but me," he bent on one knee, "And I want it to stay that way."

I gasped more at him that the sparkling diamond ring he presented me. Before he could ask me, I laughed gleefully and knocked him over with the force of my hug. We laughed before we kissed, and he placed the ring on my finger. We layed there in peace, watching the sun set, happy.

"Hey John?"

"Yeah, babe?"

"Thank you."
