Once, in Beijing, a young girl in a red gown huddled in a doorway. She was looking at her mother, who cried silently.

This young girl wasn't sure why her mother cried, and she was afraid to find out. The last time she found her mother in an emotional state, she was chastised for interfering.

But, Amy couldn't help but look at her mother as she shed tears. In front of her was a plate with nothing but crumbs, a coffee mug, a notebook, and a vase with flowers. From the looks of things, Amy's mother was enjoying a snack.

For the life of Amy, she couldn't tell where her father was. Mother and father work together in the family business that they keep telling Amy she soon will help with. This explains their need to be in Beijing. China has always been crucial in business dealings...at least this is what her father is always telling her.

Another door opened not to far away from Amy's mother, who was still wallowing in her silent tears.

It was father.

He walked slowly to where Amy's mother sobbed, looking around the room for any signs of her distress. He noticed Amy at the door, smiled weakly at her, and placed a finger over his lips. Father was always kind to Amy, even now. He didn't want Amy to go, but rather wanted her to remain silent as she was.

Father finally reached mother, and got down on his knees at her side. Gently, he turned her chair so that she would face him. Mother was startled just a littled, and finally stopped crying for a little while. They spoke in hushed tones, and finally she allowed Father to hold her.

"What is wrong, love?" Amy heard her father say finally.

After a few deep breaths, Amy finally heard her mother say, "All I ever wanted...all I ever asked for all day...all I want is a cup of coffee."
